Cleaning your air fryer after every use is very important, as it helps get rid of the plastic smell. It keeps your appliance in tip-top shape and functioning properly. It also keeps any foul smell away and prevents residue build-up. More importantly, when your air fryer is clean, you are sure that the food you are preparing is clean and safe to eat.

For the Basket and Drawer:

  1. Put the air fryer basket in the container with warm soapy water. Let soak in the solution for at least 10 minutes.
  2. With a scrubber or a sponge, scrub ant dirt off from the basket – use a delicate, non-abrasive scrub/sponge that will not harm the basket in any way.
  3. When all the dirt is scrubbed off, rinse the basket under running tap water.  Repeat the process with the drawer.
  4. NEVER use an abrasive material to clean it. Otherwise, you will damage the drawer.

For the Housing:

  1. The housing will not become as greasy as the basket and the drawer, so cleaning will not be too difficult. However, still need to clean it regularly.
  2. Use a moist, soft cloth to wipe off dirt and grease from the outside of the housing.
  3. Use hot water and a soft sponge to clean the inner surfaces of the housing.
  4. Use a soft-medium bristle brush to clean the heating element, especially if some food residues that stick to it.
  5. Wipe it dry with paper towels. NEVER use an abrasive brush or a steel brush to clean it. Otherwise, you will damage the heating element.

For the Coil:

You should clean the coil of your air fryer every 3 months. If you notice that smoke is coming out of the vent of your air fryer, then you should also clean it. If you use your air fryer to cook a lot, then you should clean the coil at least once a month.

  1. Unplug the air fryer and let cool completely.
  2. Carefully turn the air fryer upside down.
  3. Using a moist tissue, wipe any dirt from the coil and then using a soft-bristled brush, clean it thoroughly.
  4. When the coil is clean, dry it using a clean towel.
  5. Carefully turn the air fryer to its right position.

  2. Remove the drawer and basket from the housing and clean them as instructed above.
  3. Carefully turn the air fryer upside down. Shake the bottle with the cleaning solution until well mixed.

  5. Carefully turn the air fryer to its right position. Let it stand for 30 minutes.
  6. Carefully turn the air fryer upside down again.
  7. Shake the bottle with the cleaning solution until well mixed.
  8. Spray the solution around the heater area. Let the solution soak for a couple of minutes.
  9. Carefully turn the air fryer to its right position. Let it stand for 30 minutes.
  10. Return the drawer to the housing.  Pour about 400 milliliters water into the drawer.
  11. Plug the air fryer and set the timer for 20 minutes at the lowest temperature – this will moisten any dirt and lodge them off.
  12. The drawer will catch them as they fall.  Pull the drawer open and remove.
  13. Unplug the air fryer and let cool enough to handle and clean.
  14. Carefully turn the air fryer upside down.
  15. Using a paper towel or a clean cloth, wipe the cleaning solution and the softened dirt from the surface. Wipe clean the rest of the inside surface.
  16. Clean the drawer and dry. Assemble the basket back into the drawer, and return the drawer back into the housing.
