Air is the New Oil!
What if there is way to eat your favorite fried foods with half the fat and calories? Well this is not a legend, a mythical story, but a possible cooking method with air fryer.
Air as oil? Sounds like a Sci-Fi movie, but it is possible, and is already happening.
The air fryer uses very hot air to cook food, and unlike traditional fryers uses very little oil.
It is normal to question if the air-fried chips are as crispy and delicious as fried ones from the classic deep-fryer. It may be hard to believe, but the air fryer can truly cook your chips and make them as crispy as the classic fryer does.
Besides, air-fried chips are much healthier, as they are not soaked in hot oil. With the rapid air circulation, air fryers allow you to cook everything you want, with only one tablespoon of oil.
Air-fried chips are crunchy, delicious, and, most importantly, healthy. Many of us would compromise even the flavor of food to get a healthy meal, but with the air fryer and innovative technology, you do not have to give up that beloved fried flavor.
Air fryers are a healthy alternative to the classic fryer. Classic deep-frying is a cooking method that is well known around the globe. It is often used as a fast option to prepare foods, and it is quite delicious. Deep-fried fries may be a delicious option, but they are not healthy.
Deep-fried foods are loaded with fats, particularly the type of fats that are bad for human health. When it comes to the bad oils, deep-fried foods are loaded with saturated and trans fats, the worst types of fat according to doctors. Besides, many deep-fried foods have a batter coating which absorbs even more unhealthy oil.
The saturated and trans fats in deep-fried foods increase the risk of high cholesterol and heart disease, and they elevate the risk for certain types of cancer and obesity.
Air fryers use very little oil, and the air is the main key to frying the foods. The air in the fryer circulates around the food and produces a crunchy, crispy exterior, and soft interior. This innovative kitchen appliance cuts down the fat content by, according to some manufacturers, up to 75%. Most importantly, unlike heated oil, the heated air in the air fryer does not change the food’s compounds. Some foods when cooked improperly create toxins, and even healthy food like vegetables can be turned into unhealthy trans-fat-laden treats.
So, are air fryers really a healthy way to cook?
Fried foods have been on the “naughty list” for a long time, and all because of hydrogenated oils. These can lead to a wide range of health issues as mentioned earlier, including obesity and cardiovascular complications.
An important study published in the International Food Research Journal shows that air frying is in fact a healthier method.
It is also important to note that even small amounts of oil that oxidize easily can influence the formation of free radicals. Therefore, when using the air fryer, we suggest you use coconut or grapeseed oil.
Frying foods with the classic method can create a potentially dangerous compound called acrylamide. This compound is formed in high-carb foods during high-heat cooking methods like deep-frying. Air frying instead of classic frying may help to lower the acrylamide content in your fried foods.
As you can see, the air fryer is a much healthier way to prepare your food than classic deep-frying. Still, air fried food is still FRIED food and should not be consumed daily.
Just a tablespoon of oil and hot air are more than enough to prepare classic fried foods that taste good, look good, and are healthier than deep-fried foods.
When it comes to the question of whether air is the new oil, we can agree. The reason for this is simple: Air can effectively fry food just as oil can, giving you that unique flavor and texture, but without the development of toxins and harmful compounds.
Air is the new oil, but healthy oil!

Cooking Crispy Chips with Your Air Fryer
The air fryer allows for healthy cooking of your favorite fried foods by utilizing hot air to cook potato chips. So, even if you use too little oil, your food will be cooked thoroughly and equally on all sides. This is made possible as it comes with a fan that circulates hot air around your food at high speed, so you get the same effects as though you are actually frying your food in a deep fryer.
Understanding How It they make crispy chips
Air Fryers cook different types of food. For a neophyte, it must be difficult for you to grasp the idea of frying your food with little to no oil. The principle is simple, really! Air Fryers use a patented Rapid Air Technology that circulates extremely hot air around your food. The temperature inside the air fryer while it is cooking your food reaches up to 4000F.
The fan that circulates the hot air is located above the cooking chamber thus providing the best airflow needed to cook your food. Because the fan is located above the cooking chamber, food particles do not get trapped on the fan causing mechanical problems in the long run.
This intuitive design makes it possible for the food to receive the same amount of heating thereby everything gets cooked evenly. It also comes with the easy-to-understand user interface so that you can easily operate the air fryer minus the confusion. I especially like the simple user interface of air fryer because you can operate this kitchen appliance with a mere touch of a button.
Benefits of making crispy chips with An Air Fryer
The air fryer comes with so many benefits. Perhaps one of the most obvious advantages of using the Air Fryer is that it allows people to make healthy foods as it requires the use of little to no oil. This is very significant to individuals who are likely to suffer from high blood cholesterol. Consumption of food with less oil is also helpful in curbing lifestyle-related diseases particularly obesity and high blood pressure. But more than improving our health, below are the other benefits of the air fryer.
- You don’t have to buy other kitchen appliances: An air fryer does not only replace deep fryers, but it can also replace other kitchen appliances including the grill, oven, and broiler. Having said this, you don’t need to spend money on other kitchen appliances, so you save money.
- Saves space in your kitchen: Since you don’t have to buy other appliances, you save on space in your kitchen. This is really helpful especially if your kitchen is tiny. Personally, the Air Fryer is one of the two kitchen equipment that I bought when I was living in a very small flat. It saved me a lot of space in the kitchen.
- Compatible with many types of diet: Contrary to what most people think, the air fryer is not only limited to making sinful yet guilt-free comfort foods. In fact, it can also be compatible with many types of diets such as the Keto Diet, Vegan Diet, and many others.
